Aruna Indonesia, also known as PT Aruna Jaya Nuswantara, is an Integrated Fisheries Commerce company with a noble objective of improving the livelihoods of individuals dependent on the sea by establishing a fair and sustainable fisheries ecosystem.

Founded by three individuals with deep connections to coastal culture and expertise in technology, Aruna embarked on its mission as the first Indonesian startup dedicated to utilizing advanced technology to connect local fishermen with a broader market.

Expanding its operations across the major islands of Indonesia, Aruna has achieved significant success in enhancing the income of fishermen, resulting in an impressive increase of 3 to 12 times their earnings. Moreover, Aruna extended its impact by empowering coastal women, a commendable effort that earned the company a gold medal at the Asean ICT Awards in 2018.

Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Aruna experienced a remarkable 86-fold growth in revenue. This achievement served as a catalyst for Aruna to diversify its product offerings. Additionally, the company secured a substantial investment of USD 5.5 million and ventured into the domestic market with the launch of Seafood by Aruna.

As of 2021, Aruna has empowered over 26,000 fishermen across 27 provinces. The communities supported by Aruna have witnessed substantial turnovers ranging from 300 to 700 million per month, providing a significant economic boost to these individuals and their regions.

Aruna currently provides job opportunities for Data Manager (Full time) with 6 years of experience, based in Jakarta.

Job Description

Develop a deep understanding of ecosystems growth and user behavior with data to find opportunities that can influence product development and strategy, with details :

• Understand business concepts and goals, and use them effectively to scope data projects – Diagnose and solve data issues in our data warehouse and data mart; look for the root cause of problems and envision a long-term solution for these issues

• Contribute to the product strategy and execute the prioritized roadmap for your team
• Build data reports/dashboards to monitor developed products
• Plan iteration based on observed data
• Develop ad-hoc queries to support the operational process
• Increase co-worker's data literacy by training on new reports/dashboards, being strategic partners, and providing technical expertise on data storage structures and data cleansing
• Manage and design the reporting and analysis environment, including data sources, data warehouse, interface, and contents

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Operation Research, or other related disciplines
• Have at least 6 years of experience in data-related fields
• Proficients in SQL, spreadsheets, and statistical software package
• Excellent in Statistics/Math
• Familiar with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) process
• Familiar with Bigquery, Redash, or Data Studio
• Good Understanding of product life cycle and development cycle
• Great data manipulation skills
• Able to communicate and ask questions effectively
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and curios
• Ability to work independently and with others
• Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
